Just in case you have not seen the complete video of the debate that Tyler Riggs and some others have been talking about, you can see it here. I can and will agree that that it was priceless to see the face of all the candidates when asked the amazing question. But his video has only three candidates in the picture. So here is the complete video with James Williams. And you can see that he was not surprised or bothered by the question in any way. As a matter of fact, he is the only candidate with the constitution on him, and had enough confidence to give the other candidates a copy. Enjoy.
This is the list of questions and answers that James Williams has given. They are not in any specific order:
This first set of questions came from the Candidates.
1. Question:
What have you done in your history to prove to the voters that they can trust you to protect their states’, parental and constitutional rights from Congress and the Obama administration?
Answer:
I am a member, contributor, and a donator to the Campaign for liberty. I have signed and support the Audit the Fed. Petition, and attend the C4L seminars. I am a member for the Republican Liberty Caucus, Right March Pac, and was one of the people that organized the first 9/12 meeting at Noah’s. I believe that our forefathers understood the issues that we would be facing as the government grows larger and larger. So they gave use the 9th and 10th amendments. This leaves States the right to govern themselves without federal government interference. The federal government only has 18 enumerated rights according to the constitution; all other rights belong to the states. I have been taught by my parents to have strong work ethics, to be disciplined, to have Christian morals, and I have been taught the US constitution. Using these principles will lead me into prosperity, and the same is true for our State. I will lead our State in to the future by using the principles that are in the United States Constitution.
Thank You
2. Question:
As our next Senator, who do you as a candidate represent?
Answer:
As your newly elected senator, I represent the constitution and the people of Utah. I will represent our states values, morals, and constitutional principles. As I move forward, I will work to return the power back to the people and to get the federal government out of our education system, health care system, and our everyday lives. I will represent your conservative and constitutional values by asking myself three main questions that every Senator should ask themselves before passing a bill; 1. Is this constitutional and in the proper role of government? 2. Will this better our country and the people of Utah? 3. Is it the right thing to do morally? As you’re newly elected Senator I will make all decisions based on the original intent of the constitution. I will continue to stand for the Constitution, for individual God-given liberties, and for free market principles. It is my first priority to represent the constitution of the United States and the constitutional principles that the people in this state stand for.
Thank You
3. Question:
Can you explain the oath of office and also how will you uphold your oath if elected and sworn in?
Answer:
The first sentence in the oath of office is as follows; I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. As you’re newly elected Senator I will make all decisions based on constitutional principles. I will move forward in making all Americans and elected officials abide by the law of the land. Right in the first sentence, as Senator we swear to defend the United States Constitution against foreign and domestic enemies. This includes our federal government and people in our federal government who may by trying to strip away our constitutional rights.
The second sentence states; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same. This means that I bear allegiance to the constitution of the United States and not to special interest groups, large corporations, or to the political wheels that strip power away from the American people. As I move forward I bear allegiance to the United States Constitution.
Thank You
4. Question:
To all the esteemed candidates, what has caused the nation's economic woes and what is your plan to put America back on the right track?
Answer:
The nation’s economic woes were created in many different ways. By having the second highest corporate tax in the world, large corporations have moved over seas. The housing bubble and foreclosure rate has caused great turmoil. This bubble was created by the federal government’s interference in lending. This interference mandated that lending institutions give loans to individuals who were unable to repay the loans. This lead to huge banking failures and the banking bailout plan. We need to move forward by removing federal government interference from free market enterprise. As a new US Senator, I will be working on a bill that will move this country to a consumption tax and a new flat income tax. After we get our deficit under control, and start working on a surplus we can then move to no federal income tax. To continue getting America back on track we also need to lower the corporate tax and drop the capital gains tax. This will incentivize large corporations to move back into the US and employ Americans. By doing this, we create jobs and dramatically lower the unemployment rate and it will also incentivize investing in American businesses.
Thank you.
The second set of questions was from the news media:
5. Question:
I had heard a lot of good answer tonight. And, you’ve almost taken my breath on my question. I believe a lot of us believe in the enumeration of powers and wont the original intent of the constitution followed. However we see that when people are elected to office and make it there they seem to be seduced by the power that they have in that office, as far back as I can remember the executive branch has assimilated more power, and at the same time the legislative branch giving more power up. So what will you do as a senator if elected to insure that does not happen and to insure that the original intent of the constitution is followed in this country?
Answer:
I think that’s a great question, the original intent of the United States constitution. The first problem that I find is that the people have not been taught the original intent of the United States constitution. This is due to many reasons, the first and for most is that we have federal bureaucrats interfering between us and our child’s education, Like I have stated before, the first thing we need to do is to get federal bureaucrats out from in between us and our children, and we need to start teaching our children the original intent of the constitution. As I have stated, there are three main questions, and ever senator showed ask this and ever person showed be taught this. Is this constitutional and is it the proper role of federal government? Is this the right thing to do morally? Will this better the country and the people of this state? Those are three questions everybody should go back to, everybody should ask themselves, and every senator should be able to answer yes too before they vote to pass a bill. First thing is first, teach our children, get the federal bureaucrats out, and teach our children the original intent of the United States Constitution.
Thank You
6. Question:
A little something different. Can you pick a number between 1 and 27? I would like you each to tell me what that amendment of the Constitution means.
Answer:
This is not said. It is actions going on in the background:
(The one thing you cannot see is that James Williams is the only Candidate that has a constitution on him. All other candidates had no constitution on them. As such, James Williams was kind enough to hand out copies of the constitution to the other candidates. The look on the face of all the other candidate was impressive, but James Williams has the constitution right in his pocket, where he has promised to be a constitutionalist and to carry a constitution on him. He only had to pull the constitution out to see that Cherilyn Eagar, and Mark Shurtleff as it has been all night, surprised. James was also willing to give copies of the constitution to people that asked for one.)
James Williams:
I will go next, the twentieth amendment, It will take me more than 60 seconds to read through the entire amendment states many different things. If anybody is familiar with it, it goes over a lot of things. The first one is that the term of the President and the Vice President shall end on the 20th day of Jan. Of course that is self explanatory. Once the election is held at noon on that day, the new elected President shall be sworn in and take office, and of course the old President shall be out. Section two says that congress shall assemble at least once every year, and such meeting should begin on noon on the 3rd day of Jan. unless they should by law appoint a different day. Of course once again that pretty explanatory. As far as congress goes we meet at a very minimum of once a year or as dictated by law it could be on a different day than the 3rd day of Jan. Section 4. Congress may by law provide for the case of the death of any of the persons from whom the house of representatives may chose a President whenever the right choice shall have devolved upon them, and of course it goes, there are huge amounts of sections here, and I only have 10 seconds. Of course the 20th amendment just comes down to stating facts about when people or elected representatives should take office.
Thank You
7. Question:
We here in Cache Valley we sometimes fill a little isolated from the Wasatch front, the centers of power and we can get forgotten sometimes. So if you where to become Senator, what would you do for Cache Valley?
Answer:
I think that’s a great question and there are many things we can do for Cache valley. The first thing is that we can lower the corporate tax and capital gains tax which will incentivize corporations moving back into the United States, moving back into Utah, and moving back into Cache Valley. This will bring your unemployment rate down and it will also bring taxes down and it will help the community her by lowering the unemployment rate. The other thing we can do, and I have been working on this with a very good friend of mine is a true free market health care system. One that is free from total government interference. This system will allow every individual to be contact directly with their Practitioner without insurance interference, government interference, or pharmaceutical company interference. That will directly help the people of Cache Valley. It will save them money and it will dramatically decrease the cost of health care. I thank you for your time.
8. Question:
How will you answer when you are elected to your continuants, any specifics, in regards to health care, and when you’re talking about the constitution yea that’s important? But I don’t know if those whom are unable to obtain quality health care or afford insurance if that would be enough to insure that they can trust you to do what they need to meet their health care needs. If you could expand on that?
Answer:
l love this question, and the reason is that I have a true free market health care plan, in place and it is up and running today. Dennis Rowley and I have been working on this for some time. He has been in the health care system, around the health care insurance for over 35 years. The problem with our health care system is the federal government interfering with the insurance companies, the hospitals and the practitioners. What we have done is we have dropped out from in between the individual and the hospital, or the practitioner, the federal government, the pharmaceutical companies, the insurance companies, the bill collector, the attorneys, and everything else. By time your one dollar gets to the insurance company and the hospital they receive .25 cents of that dollar. By removing all the entities from between you and your practitioner, they receive the full dollar. Not just .25 cents. This will drop the cost of the health program and health care across the board by 75%. The other thing it does is it allows people to go across state lines and get catastrophic insurance. Through this catastrophic insurance people can go to the hospital with a broken leg and use the catastrophic insurance. You do not need insurance between you and your practitioner. Imagine if you had insurance on your vehicle that the insurance company had to pay for the gas, the tires, rotations, had to pay for oil, you car insurance would be more expensive than health insurance. This way we get everybody out from in between you, health insurance goes down, the cost drops, and every American gets health insurance. That’s the main goal, that’s what we need to do.
Thank You
9. Question:
As the media we often arrive at accidents and incidents. We have not been yelled at, not given reports in a timely manner, and had to watch questionable practices by our law enforcement. I want to, and other medias wont to know, what will you do to help insure that fact that when there is a problem with law enforcement who is suppose to upholding our constitutional rights and serving us. What can you do to help the people have a citizen advisory group that could investigate complaints? As it is now, in Cache Valley and in the state of Utah, if you have a complaint you call up and what happens is other police or other sheriffs investigate themselves. And so usually the media and the victims get kicked to the curb and we watch that a lot around here. What can you do as a Senator to help get a law so we don’t have that problem? So we can educate and inform our public of what is going on and help keep a balance like it is suppose to be. Because all the laws you put into effect, we still have other people enforce them. So what will you do to get back our service oriented law enforcement and our right to question their behavior?
I think that’s a very complicated question for US states senator. I will have to look into it a little bit, but It sound like it is more of a state right issue and not a federal government issue. If we start passing laws that control everything in the states from the federal government we will be in a worse position then we are today. What we need to do is the state government and the elected officials in the state, get with them. And start making mandates or start putting a group together, or have a board that is set up so that citizens can go to that board. This will allow that board to do an independent investigation that is free from and separate from the entities that are being evaluated or investigated on. I do believe that would be better proposed on the state level. That should not be a federal Senators bill that should be passed. That is a state right and should stay a states right.
Thank you
10. Question:
Please explain the position you hold regarding related matters. As such as immigration policy reform, boarder control, amnesty, and how do we address the matter of the millions that are currently here illegal in this country ECT?
I think that’s a very great question. There is a huge part out of many parts of the question. First of all we need to finish and continue building the wall to support and to secure the borders of the United States of America. We have failed to do this and we still fail to do this today. As a US Senator I will mandate that this wall and our national security and our forces finish this wall to secure our borders. I do not believe in amnesty, I do not believe that we should incentivize illegal immigration, and I do not believe that we should hand over green cards to illegals in this country today. They take our tax dollars through medical system, social security system, and through the welfare system. If they are here illegally, we have a means of identifying illegal aliens from every country in the world. What we need to do is stand up, take hold of the reins, and make the country that their here illegally from pay from their return, send them back home. They need to go to the back of the line and they can go through the proper channels to be here legally. Then we can bring them back in to the country, let them work, and let them contribute to the society the same as every American contributes to society today. They are not free from paying taxes, or contributing, and should not be here illegally. We need secure our boarders, send them back and then continue from there.
Thank You
