Fighting To Restore Constitutional Principles.
We, the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
My strong faith and belief in the founders and the Constitution of the United States have driven me to commit to returning our country to the nation that inspired document described over 200 years ago.
When I am elected to the US Senate, I will work for positive changes in Washington, D.C. I will need your help to continue the fight against politics-as-usual. I will put the interests of the Constitution, American families and small businesses first. Politicians and special interests groups may not like it, but my loyalty is to the Constitution and to the people of this country. I am a leader for positive change based on sound, conservative principles. I will work to end corruption in Washington, D.C., control federal spending, make politicians accountable, strengthen national security, limit government, and stop illegal immigration.
Key Issues:
1. Fiscal Discipline
2. Accountability
3. National Security
4. Limited Government
5. Immigration Reform
The people of America have lost faith in our government. We, as the Republican Party, have not stepped up to restore this faith. It is time to move forward in our thinking and restore the faith in our party, and in America, using principle driven ideas to advance our platform. Americans cherish life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We understand the importance of being gracious in our dealings, strong in principle, and unwavering in our commitment to freedom.
As Americans, we want our government to reflect the values and principles that founded this country. We need to make a change and elect representatives who are motivated to make the right choices based on the Constitution and who are committed to integrity and personal accountability.
Comment:
My years working in Washington, D.C., as a political consultant and lobbyist only a small percentage of elected officials had strong principles and values worth staking their political career on. They arrive with enthusiasm to serve their constituent only in time serve the party platform unquestionable and their own political survival. I was impressed with your strong support for State rights, gun rights, freezing pay raised, fiscal spending restraint, and putting principles over compromise with the opposition party. But most importantly putting first the U.S. Constitution and the Republic. Good luck in your political aspirations, Remember Leadership is about sacrifice and commitment not power and control. "James Williams greeted us with a genuine smile and a firm handshake. He was noticeably nervous one-on-one as well as in the debate, but was stronger in the debate. He seemed highly intelligent and well-informed on the issues. He spoke clearly and decidedly, emanating strong convictions and well-thought-out plans to address the issues. He received what seemed to me to be the loudest applause on the most number of his responses.
Mr. Williams said that he believed that his job as Senator would be to quote, uphold and defend the Constitution against threats both domestic and foreign, as stated in Article 1, Section 8. He said that we need to make decisions for ourselves. He believes we should make a “pie budget,” where every expense is allocated on a pie chart. If an unexpected expense is required, it must be cut from a different piece of the pre-allocated pie. He considers this to be a logical way to control spending and a good way to keep tabs on where the money is spent. We should not spend outside the pie. We cannot spend and increase spending unless the budget is decreased more somewhere else.
Mr. Williams would like to drop corporate taxes to under 10%, bringing businesses back to the U.S. and thereby increasing Federal tax income.
Mr. Williams said, “If we do nothing, they [the Federal government] will do everything. Anyone on the federal or state level who reaches beyond their rights granted them in Constitution is an enemy within.”
Mr. Williams said that Ron Paul is leading the way on the attempt to audit the federal government. He would like to get rid of the Federal income tax, adopt a flat tax and send elected officials back to their states. He asserted that we are advanced enough in our technology to do most of what they do in Washington at home.
Mr. Williams’ goal in running for Senate is to get Bob Bennett out and a true, conservative representative in. If he or one of the other three candidates in attendance there that night were elected, he would be happy."
